AFTER ME –
YOU COME FIRST!
Energize Direct
Care-Workers while Serving Elders
Marko will address the four aspects
of
Humanity: Body, Mind, Emotion, and Spirit. The title
“after me – you come first,” points to
the necessity of taking care of oneself in order to have the energy and
compassion to care for others. Like a graceful dancer Marko weaves
movement, exercise, and sound to guide the group through a process of
awareness and rejuvenation leading them to a celebration of life.
FOUR STEPS TO PEACE OF MIND
“EMPTY
THE CUP – FILL THE CUP – STIR THE
CUP – BE THE CUP”
Step
one - Empty the cup - We empty the cup by first reflecting on the
aspects of our
life that feel blocked, physically, mentally, emotionally, even
spiritually. Keeping
these areas in focus, we then shake, stretch, breathe and
release with a loud
sound, the stress we feel.
Step
two - Fill the cup - We fill our cup by bringing to mind how we
would like
to feel today as we move towards our goals and visions. We then do
a variety of movements that
assist us in feeling our physical strength, mental power and our
life's force.
We might squat while squeezing our fists tight, or punch and
shout to wake-up and
experience our vitality.
Step
three - Stir the cup - We stir our cup by slowing down and doing
mindful
movements where we learn to witness the body/mind
connection. Next,
we do some exhilarating exercises. After, we allow our
body to become still. It is here that we
come in touch with the subtle micro-movements that awaken us to the
deep interconnectedness
between our body, mind and heart.
Step
four - Be the cup - We be the cup by resting deeply within the
Self. We experience ourselves fully,
in the present moment, aware of our three dimensional bodies in
space, connected to all of life. We sit or stand quietly in a
state of appreciation.
Three
skills you will take away from these sessions:
1. How to release and discharge
daily
tension and stress.
2.
How to rejuvenate yourself throughout
the day.
3. How to balance, center and
integrate
body/mind/spirit to create a higher quality of life for yourself and
those you care for.
